The EchoFlex is a handheld articulating videoscope built for remote visual inspection in confined spaces. It combines a joystick-controlled articulating probe, a 5.5-inch high-definition touchscreen, and a rechargeable battery in a single portable unit that needs no base station or computer. Interchangeable probes from 1.8 mm to 8.4 mm in diameter, with white light or UV LED illumination at the tip, let one controller cover a wide range of inspection work.

About This Item
The EchoFlex is a handheld articulating videoscope from Zibra Corp that puts the camera, display, controls, and power supply in one portable unit. Where the Milliscope platform pairs interchangeable scopes with a base unit, the EchoFlex is self-contained. An inspector connects a probe, powers on, and is viewing live video on the 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 touchscreen in seconds. A thumb-operated joystick steers the articulating tip, and pressing the joystick holds the tip where it is set, so the probe can be guided around a bend and kept on target with one hand while the other feeds cable.
Probe selection is where the EchoFlex expands what Zibra Corp offers. Probes are interchangeable and range from 1.8 mm to 8.4 mm in diameter, each fitted with a current-generation CMOS image sensor and LED illumination at the distal tip. Both white light and UV illumination models are available, and dual view visualization, which shows forward and side views on the same screen, is offered on probes from 2.8 mm and up. One controller can therefore move between small-bore machined passages and large cavity inspection simply by changing the probe.
Documentation is built into the workflow rather than added afterward. Stills and video record to the included 64 GB SD card or the 16 GB internal memory, and files can be sorted into folders on the device, watermarked, and transferred over USB-C. HDMI output mirrors the live image to an external monitor when a second set of eyes is needed. On-screen tools include digital zoom, image freeze, and a crosshair scale for comparative measurement, along with image enhancement modes such as strong light suppression and 3D noise reduction that help pull detail out of reflective or poorly lit surfaces. The removable lithium-ion battery runs for more than three hours on a charge.
